SUMMARY:Transmission Time: The Case for Proactive Transmission Planning: An Update on the FERC ANOPR Reform Proceeding and Next Steps
DESCRIPTION:On December 9\, 2021 at 3:00pm EST\, Americans for a Clean Energy Grid hosted another installment of Transmission Time\, titled “The Case for Proactive Transmission Planning: An Update on the FERC Reform Proceedings and Next Steps.” Proactive planning was supported by 174 entities in response to FERC’s Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANOPR) relating to longer-term regional transmission planning\, cost-allocation\, and generator interconnection processes. Speakers discussed the proposed reforms\, why proactive transmission planning is supported\, and what this means for the future of transmission.
