SUMMARY:ACORE Policy Forum 2023
DESCRIPTION:The ACORE Policy Forum returns on March 9\, 2023\, to unite senior leaders from across government and the renewable energy industry in Washington\, D.C.\, and ACEG is pleased to be a supporting partner. Join important discussions around ensuring the success of the Inflation Reduction Act\, building the clean energy workforce of tomorrow\, and addressing what is needed to catalyze a domestic clean energy supply chain and upgraded electric grid. \nRegister today using the exclusive code “ACEG15” to save 15% off your ticket.

SUMMARY:Transmission Time: How Transmission Keeps the Lights On
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, March 22\, ACEG hosted a webinar on the vital role transmission plays in preserving grid reliability. \nNearly all aspects of modern life depend on reliable electricity. But the U.S. has fallen far behind when it comes to building a grid capable of supporting our current and future needs. \nAs extreme weather events — from heat waves to winter storms — become more frequent and the demand for electric power — from cars\, home heating systems\, and more — steadily grows\, transmission plays a vital role in preserving grid reliability. \nOur panelists explored how an expanded network of high-capacity power lines can provide access to geographically diverse and cheaper energy sources\, helping to keep the lights on both during temporary system shocks and under everyday circumstances. We also discussed how grid operators\, regulators\, and policymakers can better integrate anticipated future demands into their planning\, to ensure the transmission system meets our needs for years to come. \nFeatured speakers included: \n\n\n\nBeth Soholt — Executive Director\, Clean Grid Alliance\nSimon Mahan — Executive Director\, Southern Renewable Energy Association\nJonathon Monken — Principal\, Converge Strategies\nModerated by Michael Goggin — Vice President\, Grid Strategies\n\n\n\nView a recording of the event here.
