Washington, D.C. (July 6, 2021) — Today, Americans for a Clean Energy joined a coalition of diverse stakeholders in support of Section 1005 (Sitting of Interstate Electric Transmission Facilities) and Section 1006 (Rulemaking to Increase the Effectiveness of Interregional Transmission Planning) of the U.S. Senate Energy Infrastructure Act discussion draft.
In a letter to Senator Joe Manchin, the organizations recognized the “urgent need to upgrade our nation’s core electric infrastructure to meet the challenges of the 21st century” and supported the inclusion of the two provisions in the final infrastructure package.
