Making Inter-Regional Transmission Easier: Transmission Technology Innovations

On Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 2:00pm EST, Americans for a Clean Energy Grid (ACEG) hosted the next installment of “Transmission Time” where panelists discussed innovations in transmission that may help with the cost and permitting difficulties with large scale regional and inter-regional transmission. Michael Pesin, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Advanced Grid Research and Development Division at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Electricity, and Dr. Liza Reed, Research Manager for Low Carbon Technology Policy at Niskanen Center, shared insights about how costs and configurations could change to make life a little easier for funding and siting the transmission we need for a clean energy future.
