(Washington, DC) August 16, 2022 — A diverse coalition of 33 clean energy organizations, environmental nonprofits, national trade associations, consumer groups, transmission developers, utilities, and other companies sent a letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in support of a strong planning rule that helps strengthen the nation’s transmission network.
“Improved long-term transmission planning benefits electricity users in many ways,” the signatories wrote. “A better planned and integrated power system would drive significant consumer savings and help ensure reliable service. Furthermore, it could result in economic growth and deliver jobs across all geographic footprints.”
