October 14, 2022 (Washington, D.C.) — Americans for a Clean Energy Grid (ACEG) filed comments in response to the Department of Energy’s request for information on programs established by the bipartisan infrastructure law to fund grid resiliency upgrades.
These programs — collectively known as the Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnership (GRIP) Program — provide approximately $10.5 billion over fiscal years 2022 through 2026 to support the development of comprehensive and regional resilience strategies to address the increasing threats to our power system infrastructure — specifically to prevent outages and enhance the resilience of the electric grid, deploy technologies to enhance grid flexibility, and demonstrate innovative approaches to power sector infrastructure resilience and reliability. ACEG commends Congress for including the GRIP programs in the infrastructure law and DOE for acting swiftly to implement the program.
