Americans for a Clean Energy Grid (ACEG) released the following statement on the release of “Solving the Climate Crisis 2022,” a year-end report from the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis:
ACEG appreciates everything the 117th Congress has done to support critical high-capacity transmission buildout.
This new report from U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (D-FL) and the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis highlights major recent investments in transmission from the bipartisan infrastructure law and the Inflation Reduction Act. The committee also identifies the development of a “comprehensive transmission strategy” as a top priority to achieve our electrification needs and improve grid reliability.
We look forward to working with the new Congress to maintain support for transmission and its many economic, reliability, and security benefits.
