Statement from Rob Gramlich, Executive Director of Americans for A Clean Energy Grid:
“We welcome FERC’s attention on the national problem of interconnection queue logjams. Our analysis issued last January concluded that the current approach is ill-suited to the resource mix of today and tomorrow. It also found that the real root cause of the logjams is insufficient transmission capacity, which requires reform to transmission planning and cost allocation. Problems with transmission planning are blocking economic development and job creation, especially in rural areas, and are leading to increasing electricity costs for consumers. ACEG continues to focus on FERC’s transmission planning NOPR and hopes that the effort to address planning issues remains as a top priority.”
