Washington D.C. (July 19, 2022) – Americans for a Clean Energy Grid applauds today’s announcement that Maria Duaime Robinson will become the Director of the Department of Energy’s Grid Deployment Office (GDO). The GDO is a newly formed office with the mission to execute DOE’s Building a Better Grid initiative to modernize and upgrade the nation’s electric transmission lines and deploy cheaper, cleaner, and more resilient electricity across the country.

Ms. Robinson has a background in engineering and extensive experience in federal and state energy regulation and legislation. She is one of seven new Biden-Harris Administration appointees joining DOE to work with U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm to pursue President Biden’s ambitious clean energy goals and transition to a net-zero emissions economy by 2050.
